In the name of a nation,
in the name of a religion,
and in the name of peace,
We are at war, always.
As sure as the sun, rising in the east,
bullets are loaded, bombs detonated,
lives easily taken,
because We are at war, always.
Somebody’s martyr is somebody’s terrorist,
somebody’s fellow soldier is somebody’s enemy,
somebody’s revenge is somebody’s loss,
and yet We are at war, always.
Somewhere, a son is lost,
a wife found dead,
and a beloved friend forever gone,
but We are at war, always.
Everyday homes are ruptured,
and women raped.
but We.. We are at war, always.
The mother earth, nurtures us,
and We soak her soil with blood and death,
since, We are at war, always.
In spite of the pain, there is no empathy,
in spite of the violence, there is no solution,
And yet, We are at war, always.
For every war fought,
a new one awaits,
because, We are at war, Always…
